Langkah-langkah penjimatan perlu diambil seperti meminimumkan perbelanjaan atau membuat kutipan derma. Perancangan perbelanjaan yang tepat perlu diuruskan oleh Bendahari yang dilantik semasa mesyuarat dan adalah sangat perlu setiap penyata pendapatan dibentangkan semasa mesyuarat. Bendahari juga perlu mencatat segala rekod keluar masuk wang serta menyimpan semua bukti perbelanjaan seperti resit dan invois.
Bagi jabatan kerajaan pula, perancangan perbelanjaan yang tepat adalah sangat penting dan juga perlu disertakan dengan laporan kerana segala perbelanjaan akan diaudit pada akhir tahun. Semasa dalam latihan para peserta akan diingatkan supaya sentiasa tenang dan berhati-hati semasa mengendali proses ini. Ini kerana adalah penting kepada para peserta untuk sentiasa memahami bahawa di samping menjaga keselamatan pesakit, keselamatan mereka juga harus diberi keutamaan bagi mengelakkan perkara yang lebih buruk terjadi.
Para peserta akan diajar dengan lebih mendalam cara-cara untuk mengendalikan pesakit yang pengsan misalnya dalam ilmu pertolongan cemas ini. Perkara pertama yang perlu dilakukan adalah melonggarkan pakaian pesakit di bahagian leher, dada dan pinggang untuk memastikan pesakit mendapat pengudaraan yang cukup dan udara yang bersih. Sekiranya terdapat sebarang kotoran di mulut dan muka pesakit seperti darah, maka pasukan penyelemat haruslah membersihkan kotoran tersebut.
